It was unbelievable at Cedar Creek today!
I didn't even start my trip until 9 am and that didn't seem to matter. We tried several spots inside the cove at Fisherman's Wharf and then headed out to the main lake. We immediately found birds working in the deep water between the flats and Pitts Point. It was truly amazing! By 10 am we had my customer's fifteen fish limit and caught and released another 13 fish of which only 3 were undersized, and I can't tell how many were missed. There was only one Sand Bass out of all that, So we went looking for some. I went all the way north to the tennis courts and found nothing until I came back south to the Long Ridge. We caught around 10 or so there and I decided to move on.
I took us back to the flats and didn't find much. Then I went on over to the horseshoe and found the rest of the fish we kept for the day. 15 Hybrids and 52 Sandies, not a bad day for quitting at 2pm. One of my customers had to meet his wife for dinner at 5 and wanted time to clean up. I really like the days when everyone catches fish. The water temp started off around 54 and by the time we quit it was almost 59 degrees. Water clarity is good and the weather was great! Our fish were caught on everything, Burgess Baits, Bass Pro Shops Tungsten Spoons, Lead Babies Irish Special and Holiday Baits Sassy Shads in Banana on an 1-1/2 ounce minnow head.
The birds were thick and this time I looped my line around one's wing and I told him I wasn't any happier about it than he was! LOL
Looks like most of the fish are south of long ridge, but the best fishing to me was in the deeper water. Call me, it is not too late to book a fishing or duck hunting trip or a combination blast n' cast trip.
Give us a call to get you on the water!
E-mail me if I can be of any use or help to you in anyway.
