This was a tough half day morning trip!
Don and I picked up our clients at Don's Port after putting in at Fisherman's Wharf at about 7 am. We headed across the lake to the Tennis Courts and didn't find much there after that we headed south to Enchanted Isle and found a few Sandies there that were hungry and then kept moving to the Spillway Hump where we found some small fish that were cooperative and kept moving again and again. The fish were all over the graph most places we stopped but just wouldn't bite. Our customers decided to call it quits at noon despite Don and I both telling them the fish were going to turn on, and from the other reports I have heard since we were right on the money.
Our fish were caught on Lead Babies slabs and on Fly By Night flies. This is a durable excellent teaser jig above a slab. What impressed me most was the fact that the fish did not pull the hairs out of the lure even when they were aggressive.
Water temp was in the upper 50's and we caught around 45 keeper Sandies and a couple of large Yellow Bass between the two boats. We also caught 14-15 undersized Hybrids which were all released of course.
Not a bad day but I wish we could have convinced the customers to stay.
E-mail me if I can be of any use or help to you in anyway.
