This day was a lot better! The wind had switched to the south and the fish were biting great. The first stop around Crappie Island didn't produce much and neither did the second stop at Key Ranch. The third stop though put 34 keepers in the box in about 45 minutes and these were good fish! These fish were all over 13" and a few fish were up to 17". We tried several more spots amd filled out the Pack's limit of 50 Sand Bass pretty quickly. After that we tried some spots for Hybrids and caught six or seven undersized fish and lost one good fish at the boat just as the net was about to get him - RATS!!!
We caught and released another 50 fish or so. Water temp is the low 60's and the fish were moving still fairly fast. All fish were caught on Lead Babies Slabs in Blue/Silver and Black/Gold. The bigger 2 ounce baits caught bigger fish so we stuck with those primarily. We saw fish stacked up on the first and second break lines but I decided to stick with fishing the first one and it paid off.
We still have time to get out there and get a bunch of fish for you and anybody that wants to tag along.
E-mail me if I can be of any use or help to you in anyway.
