Lake Grapevine Sunday October 10, 2004
Don Novak fished a group this morning for a make-up trip and I fished mine this afternoon. It is our goal to make every trip memorable. The trip for this part and mine the first time, were not. THESE TRIPS WERE!
Will and his son Brian were waiting for me at the dock at 2:30. We came out of Scott’s Landing right on top of schooling White Bass. After we had caught several we moved on to the island with some success. The birds we notice were working the north bank and we headed over there and really started catching a lot of good fish. Once again the action slowed and the birds began to dive bomb the water almost on the beach at Murrell Park.
The fish were really there and father and son truly enjoyed catching fish after fish.
We left there and I started looking for three more fish to fill their limit. Will said not to worry about those three, he had had the best trip of his life already HE DOESN”T KNOW ME VERY WELL, DOES HE???!!
The northwest end of the island was solid with schooling fish! We caught the last three in no time and then continued to catch and release for another good hour.
Another set of satisfied customers and more fun than you can shake a stick at!
The Conditions: Wet & windy, the water was slightly stained and the temperature was in the low to mid 70’s. Most of the fish were shallow, fifteen feet deep or less and all on slabs.. Time to watch for the birds. It will only be better for the next several weeks.
E-mail me if I can be of any use or help to you in anyway.
