F I S H I N G R E P O R T S:
Lake Grapevine, September 24, 2005
I fished with Marlin and his wife Michelle as well as their Pastor Norman and his wife Gladys.(I hope that is right!)The ladies definitely outfished the men this day!
The wind steadily picked up throughout the morning and we still were able to put 60 keeper Sandies in the boat by 11am. We caught more than 100 and they had a lot of fun.
Started at Rock Ledge and fousd a nice school there, but there were few takers, nice sized fish but just not that active. Moved onto Murrell and did not locate much there. I took us back accross to the island in the wind and found some fish but it was just too rough to stay for long.
Finally found a good school near the mouth of Twin Coves and out of the wind . We caught fish steadily for the next 2 hours after that and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly!
The water was in the low 80's and varied in clarity from clear near the dam to slightly murky near Twin Coves. The City OF Grapevine has repaired the ramp at Katies Woods and both lanes are now open. The fish were caught from between 15 feet and 35 feet with the deeper fish being suspended around 25-28 feet. The fish were caught on a variety of 1-ounce slabs and all worked very well. The RSR chartreuse shad slab, Burgess 2-tone and Lead Babies small shad in glow in the dark yellow glitter.
Don has lots of dates open and so does Bobby so give us a call. I still have October 2nd available if anyone is interested.
Hang your sign and lets go fishing!!!
E-mail me if I can be of any use or help to you in anyway.
