I fished with a repeat client, Al, and 3 of his friends 2-Brians and Greg,.for the first time today. The fish were fairly cooperative for a full day trip.
Started off at Finger Point and managed a few undersized Hybrids on Tailhummers. The birds never did work very well for me but at least the cooperated for Bobby a little. Moved back to Terrell Pump Station and found a good sized cooperative school of White Bass. We caught good numbers with lots more undersized Hybrids mixed in. The fish were in 10 to 15 feet of water with very few fish coming deeper than 16 feet.
After that let up I tried trolling Tall Man, the drop at the white stripe and finally back to Wolf Cove. We marked a lot of fish shallow again so instead of using the down riggers I just continued using the Hell/Pets I already had set up for Sandies. We finished the day here with one keeper Striper, more White Bass and once again lots of undersized Stripers and Hybrids.
The water temperature is in the mid to upper 80’s and is not clear at all. The fish were aggressive when they did strike. The fish that took slabs were caught on Burgess 2-tone, RSR Chartreuse Shad and the Lead Babies blue/white shad, all in the one ounce size.
They all had fun and finished the day with the one Striper, 49 Sand Bass and 1 Blue Cat.
The water is getting low but Holiday Marina’s Ramps are still useable. They have a lot of great plans for the place and I can’t wait to see them come about.
E-mail me if I can be of any use or help to you in anyway.
