Purtis Creek State Park, July 23, 2008 My friend and host of the Texas Hunting and Fishing show Brian Hughes asked me to help him with a Largemouth Bass trip on this great little lake. The topwater bite never really materialized but we did catch some great bass schooling on top. There is also a good population of White Bass in this lake now and they are big! These fish were caught on watermelon red flake lizards and on a Bass Pro Shops perch swim bait dyed orange to resemble a goldfish.
