This was another fine day with some great folks. I was fishing with my friends and repeat clients Al, Sam, Trisha and Sams‚ son Justin. They were unfortunately running a little late, so I think we missed the early bite .
I first took us to Sun Point where we got into some sporadic schooling and managed to catch a few nice White Bass. I then took us to the Terrill Pump Station and here we caught some samll Whites and Yellow Bass. After a brief time of that, Bobby called and we joined him and his clients on a large school of large White Bass mixed with a lot of small Hybrids.Trish hooked a really nice Blue Cat probably around 6 or 7 pounds and it broke off at the boat.
When the acion died there I tried trolling all the usual spot for Stripers with no takers at all. I moved to several more locations trying slabbing and trolling. We finally called it quits around 2pm finishing with 46 very nice White Bass withseveral over 2 pounds.
The fish are moving fast and can be hard to keep up with right now. The water temp is in the lower 80‚s and clarity is good. A friend of mine reported having schooling fish just before dark on the dam for 2 evenings in a row last week. I am usually gone by then, but I thought I might pass that on to those of you who stay or arrive later in the day.
E-mail me if I can be of any use or help to you in anyway.
