Tawakoni, April 21, 2007
This trip was several months in the making and it was worth the wait! Randy Knott and his friend David drove all the way from Abilene to fish with me on Lake Tawakoni. They had heard about the great fishing and wanted to give it a try.
I again started us off on the rip rap and we caught several Hybrid Stripers and some really great big White Bass. After that action slowed around 9 am I took us over to the Tall Man area and found a ridge holding both White Bass and Hybrids. We fished there for a good 2 hours catching more Hybrids and lots and lots of White Bass, only keeping the larger ones and releasing a good number of smaller fish.
The fishing there slowed and I moved us to another spot where we caught dozens more fish and had a great time.
They left Holiday Marina with bags full of filets and lots of knowledge to hopefully help them catch more when they go fishing.
The water is warming slowly and has cleared some in recent days. The fish are all over the place chasing bait. We caught fish from 2 to 30 feet deep and again the majority of the fish we caught were on Lead Babies Slabs.
E-mail me if I can be of any use or help to you in anyway.
