It was another repeat client today that I fished with. Dee and his friend Booker put some real quality fish in the box today. I didn’t even look anywhere else and just went straight to the ledge by the old 121 cut on the East side of the lake. The fish were still there and still thick as the fleas on a stray dogs back! The main difference today seemed to be a slow swim of the slab along the bottom caught more and bigger fish than the previous day. With only two people on board, casting was really a non-issue. The big two ounce Prune Picker was the trick and just short slow hops casting into shallower water and then swimming it down the drop off. The birds even tried to work briefly but some bass boats that flew through the cut seemed to shut it down as soon as it started.
Water temperature still in the mid 60’s and still fairly clear, The north wind didn’t have much effect on the fishing as Dee and Booker took home their 50 Sand Bass, 7 Hybrid Stripers to 8 pounds and 1 Flathead at 10 pounds.
