After attending church with my family I picked up Paul and his co-worker (Skippy) was his nickname at the Embassy Suites Bass Pro Shops in Grapevine. We were on the water around 1:30 and we started off by fishing for Black Bass. They weren’t cooperating. So next I decide for us to try for Crappie, after two light hits and nothing else it is now White Bass.

I went up the lake to the area where I had been catching them and marked a lot of bait but the fish weren’t there. I moved us back out of the wind to the south side and found fish schooling there and holding on a drop off just in front of Meadowmere Park. For the last couple of hours of their trip the guys had a lot of fun just catching and releasing fish between 12 and 14 inches and one monster fish that was a little over 17”!

The water is fairly clear and in the low 60’s. Most fish were caught on the Lead Babies Pee Wee slab in the Irish Special color. A few were also caught on the Bass Pro Shops XPS Tungsten spoon.

They plan to be back in Texas and go fishing with us again and I am looking forward to it!

E-mail me if I can be of any use or help to you in anyway.
